Growing up in a family of musicians, rhythm is important in her work, particularly in the 1960s. In Brittany, and more specifically in Saint-Malo where she reconnects with her roots, Lise Driout created the majority of her work. From the harbour of Rothéneuf to the ramparts of Saint-Malo, she captures the complexity of this land "alternatively calm and troubled" through a vibrant touch. Lise Driout was a member of the Salon des Indépendants, a member of the Salon des Artistes Français, and a member of the Salon des Femmes Peintres. She received numerous awards, including the Gémmail Prize in 1957, 3rd prize at the Cherbourg Painting Biennale in 1960, 2nd prize at the Pont-Aven Painting Salon in 1960, and the Grand Prix of the "3S" Salon in Fontainebleau in 1960. She exhibited at the "Tonalités" Gallery in Paris, the Montparnasse Gallery in Paris, in Tokyo with Kimura Bokudo, at the Môle bookstore with Mr. Duquesnoy in Saint-Malo, in Pont-Aven, at the Marine Salon, at the Salon des Indépendants, at the Paris Autumn Salon in 1970, 1971, and 1972, at the Drawing and Watercolour Salon in Paris, and at the Salon of French Artists in Paris.
