Oil painting on monogrammed canvas, Marine late 18th century, port of Venice - perfect condition

Rare and authentic oil on canvas from the end of the 18th century, monogrammed, and in perfect condition for its time. The place is venice, represented among others by 2 tulip-shaped fireplaces on the roofs, a very slender tower in the distance as well as merchants with their costumes and period hats. The subject of this painting is one of the commercial docks of the city in a sunrise with a very successful play of light and shadow. This scene is a representation of a typical cityscape in the style of the 2 italian masters: canaletto and francesco guardi. This work is monogrammed by the letter g visible at the bottom left. It is a so-called "workshop" work under the aegis of one of the masters of venetian painting. It is possible that the realization of this work was first thought by a master who would have elaborated the "patron", that is to say, he would have drawn this place that he knew perfectly, with the magnificent perspective respecting with precision the rule of proportions. Then, subsequently, one or more employees of his workshop would have finished the treatment of the light, the touch of the brush, the colors with the balance of the palettes and the finish. The other hypothesis would be a unique and authentic copy of the end of the 18th century of a painting by a great master that would have been damaged and considered unrecoverable.
