Reconstruction wardrobe model S154 designed by René Gabriel for the Temporary Constructions Service, it has become a classic of 1950s design. It is fully restored, cleaned, the interior sanded, the shelves are new and impeccable, all finished with a wax that highlights a lovely patina. It has one side for hanging clothes and the other with shelves (a second rail exists; simply remove the shelves to have one large hanging space, and conversely, it is easy to fix shelves in the right section). The wardrobe known as the "disaster victims' wardrobe" is an iconic piece of furniture from the reconstruction programme launched after the Second World War. Designed by French designer René Gabriel at the request of the Ministry of Reconstruction, it was part of the "emergency furniture" intended to refurnish destroyed homes at a symbolic price in ration tickets. Made of solid oak, it features two doors opening onto one side for hanging clothes and the other with shelves, complete with a lock and keys. Its removable and robust design facilitated transport and assembly, a major advantage in the post-war context. 📏Dimensions: Height 176 cm. Width 126 cm. Depth 51 cm.
