Golden Brass Chandelier with Twelve Arms and Dolphin Head Decoration. French Work.
This chandelier of beautiful proportions is organized around a central baluster-shaped shaft, adorned at mid-height with a crown of stylized dolphin heads with curved necks, a reference to the neoclassical repertoire. Twelve long, curved arms of light, arranged in two rows, flare widely and hold cylindrical shades on saucers. The lower sphere is topped with a pine cone finial, with suspension by a chain and gilded canopy. This model is part of the tradition of neoclassical chandeliers created by French production in the 1950s, when gilded brass with ample lines adorned dining rooms and halls of fine residences. Condition report: Good overall condition. Brass with a homogeneous and warm gilded patina. Electricity checked by an electrician. A generous and architecturally designed chandelier, ideal above a large table or in a staircase.
