Rare and Large "Cassis Cornuta", Horned Helmet 32 cm, TBE

Very large shell of Casque Cornu, "Cassis Cornuta", or "Fer à repas", or sea snail... It is a very large marine gastropod mollusk, of the cassidae family, living on sandy soils near coral reefs, in the Red Sea, in the Indian or Pacific Ocean, or near Madagascar... The size of adults varies from 15 to 40 cm, but because of their fishing, specimens over 30 cm long have now become very rare... Ideal for a "marine" decoration, a cabinet of curiosities, or to constitute a lamp base... Very good condition, small wear at the top of two "horns", collector's shell. Length = 32 cm; Height = 23.3 cm; Width = 23 cm Weight = 2.731 kg.
