4 High Commander Office Chairs by Jorge Zalszupin for L’Atelier. Produced in Brazil, 1980s. A remarkable set of four High Commander office chairs, designed by the renowned Brazilian designer Jorge Zalszupin for L’Atelier in the eighties. Jorge Zalszupin was a Polish-born Brazilian architect and furniture designer, and one of the key figures of Brazilian modernist design. These chairs are a beautiful example of Brazilian modernist design, combining sculptural elegance with exceptional comfort and craftsmanship. The chairs feature a refined cast aluminium frame, supporting a striking black lacquered fiberglass shell and backrest. The clean lines and bold architectural form reflect Zalszupin’s signature approach: sophisticated, functional design with a strong sense of proportion. Designed with both aesthetics and comfort in mind, the chairs are equipped with a practical adjustment mechanism. A lever underneath the seat allows the chair to be raised and enables a reclining position, providing additional comfort and flexibility during use. All cushions have been professionally reupholstered in beautiful cognac leather, adding warmth, luxury, and a timeless character to the original design. The contrast between the dark fiberglass structure and the rich leather upholstery creates an elegant and sophisticated appearance. A rare and impressive set, perfect for a stylish office, executive interior, or as a statement piece for collectors of exceptional Brazilian design. Price is per piece.
