Scandinavian Wooden Candleholders, Set of 6

A set of six vintage wooden candleholders, whose varied, turned shapes create a cohesive and exceptionally decorative arrangement. Each candlestick has a distinct silhouette—ranging from slender, spindle-like profiles to more substantial ones based on soft spherical and cup-like shapes. The wood-turning technique, characteristic of Scandinavian craftsmanship, has brought out smooth transitions, tapers, rollers, and geometric divisions in the wood. Similar sets of turned wooden candlesticks are characteristic of Scandinavian decorative design from the 1960s and 1970s.  The variety of proportions is particularly interesting. The set includes both a tall, slender candleholder with an almost column-like form and shorter models with elaborate, organic profiles. When arranged together, they create a rhythmic composition reminiscent of a small collection of functional wooden sculptures. The warm, natural colors of the wood—ranging from a light honey tone to deeper shades of golden brown—highlight the grain pattern and character of the material. Visible variations in the grain and subtle signs of age lend each piece an authentic vintage character. In this type of Scandinavian decorative item, it is precisely the natural wood, its texture, and the quality of the turning that constitute one of the most important aesthetic qualities.  When arranged together, they create a strong, sculptural accent, while individual candleholders can also be used separately. Here, simple functionality is combined with decorative form, allowing the set to fit seamlessly into both classic Scandinavian interiors and contemporary arrangements inspired by the Mid-Century Modern style. The height of the candlesticks varies from 27.5 cm to 14 cm - the diameter of the base about 7 cm - 4 cm.
