"Plia" folding chair in smoked polypropylene and steel by designer Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli. This chair is an iconic model of 1970s design and is featured in the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Since its presentation at the Milan Furniture Fair in 1967, it has become a cult object, appearing in the MoMA's Radical Furniture exhibition as an example of "democratic design." The Plia combines a steel frame with a transparent polypropylene seat and back, making it lightweight both in use and aesthetically pleasing. Two chairs available. The plexiglass is in perfect condition. The chrome is pitted at the rear legs (see photos).
