"Conte Biancamano" armchair in rattan by Gio Ponti and Lio Carminati from the 1960s. Italian craftsmanship and design of very high quality from one of the greatest designers of the 20th century. It was specially designed for the famous ocean liner Conte Biancamano when it was converted into a cruise ship. This armchair has been fully restored; the rattan has been meticulously cleaned and protected with a special bamboo oil, providing hydration and protection. It has, however, retained its patina and some signs of age. The cushion was custom-made by an upholstery specialist. It is removable, and the foams are new and of high resilience (multiple densities of foam were necessary for the making of this cushion, similar to a mattress), allowing for firm support with a soft welcome. The fabric from the Missoni house features a small check pattern in shades of beige. No compromises have been made for this iconic piece of Italian design that combines aesthetics, comfort, and quality.
