This set of 2 of high-quality side chairs was designed by Wilhelm Ritz for Wilkhahn in 1962 and produced by Wilkhahn during the 1960s and early 1970s in West-Germany. The elegant frames in beech are made of bentwood which is joined by a wooden wedge on both sides. The upholstered seats and backrests are covered with the original black skai / leatherette. Wilhelm Ritz was a graduate of the Ulm School of Design in Germany and the 402 chair was his diploma project. Its design was the start of the Wilkhahn Programm 400 series.
