Antique longwy earthenware salad bowl – maison loridan – circa 1900 an elegant example of french ceramic expertise, this large earthenware salad bowl signed "loridan – longwy" embodies the rustic and refined charm of late 19th or early 20th century tableware. Dimensions diameter: 26 cm height: 11.5 cm depth: 8.5 cm weight: 1025 g the salad bowl is decorated with a delicate floral frieze depicting garlands of small purple flowers tied with green foliage. The interior features the same motif on the edge, highlighted by a discreet green line. The glaze has a pronounced crackle, typical of antique pieces, which accentuates its period charm. The mark on the reverse "loridan – longwy" corresponds to an artisanal production from the lorraine factory at the end of the 19th or very beginning of the 20th century, probably around 1890-1910. The loridan house, less well known than the famous faïencerie de longwy, is nevertheless referenced for pieces produced in the same town at this time. Very good structural condition: no chips, no cracks. The network of cracks is visible on the exterior as well as the interior, but remains stable and decorative, without traces of humidity or alteration. Wear consistent with age, particularly on the foot and the rim. This antique salad bowl will easily find its place in a charming kitchen, a collection of french earthenware or as a centerpiece of a country decor.
