Rectangular coffee table in travertine by Claude Berraldacci. Top with 4 curved corners at the top and bottom, which is a technical feat because the veins of the corners are in the continuity of the veins of the top. In addition, the thickness of the top is 3 cm, which is very rare for a travertine table. This movement gives a lot of lightness and originality to the table. This table comes directly from the back of the workshop of the designer Claude Berraldacci, who designed it in the 90s. The brand was called "la pierre haute couture". The stone is the purest of what exists in travertine. It comes from the Tivoli quarry near Rome, from where the buildings of the Vatican, the Colosseum or the Trevi Fountain are extracted. The travertine from this region is very pure, with few veins and a very light color. They are not afraid of stains. The stone is worked with the great know-how of Berraldacci which allows to have a "softened travertine": natural and matte appearance, soft to the touch. His work values the timeless dimension of his pieces which harmonize with all styles of decoration (usually clichéd phrase but which is true for travertine). Last photo: portrait of Claude Berraldacci.
