A pair of armchairs designed by selman selmanagic for veb deutsche werkstatten hellerau in the 1950s. Frames made of layer-glued beech wood. The upholstery has been replaced with a new one referring to the original - in broken yellow. Very good condition, the frame has been refreshed, but there are visible abrasions on the armrests and in some places slight delamination of the beech wood (photos) - which absolutely does not affect the structure of the furniture. Selman selmanagić - architect, urban planner, designer and german university professor, is the only bauhaus graduate from the former yugoslavia. The most demanding and certainly the most important of his projects were the design of the largest football and athletics stadium of the gdr, the world youth stadium in berlin, and the comprehensive project of the construction of the city of schwedt, where he was the main architect. After retiring in 1970, he gave guest lectures at several european universities, notably in graz, ljubljana and sarajevo, and was a consultant in the reconstruction of the bauhaus college building in deassau.
