Gunni Omann for Omann Jun – Model 19 highboard in teak Beautiful and well-preserved Model 19 highboard, designed by Gunni Omann for Omann Jun in Denmark. This distinctive piece of furniture dates from the 1960s and is made of beautiful teak, showcasing the warm colour and fine grain structure of the wood. The cabinet is a fine example of refined Danish design from this period. The four large sliding dors have a calm, sleekly designed front, in which the characteristic sculpturally shaped wooden handles are elegantly integrated. The slender, tapered legs and the subtly rounded shapes of the cabinet give the whole a graceful and balanced appearance. Behind the four sliding doors is a very practical and versatile arrangement. On the left side there are six shallow drawers, ideal for items such as crockery, cutlery or documentation. On the right side, there is a spacious cabinet space with multiple shelves. Behind the two middle sliding doors, there is also ample storage space with shelves. The combination of drawers, spacious compartments, and closed storage makes this highboard particularly practical for everyday use. The furniture is in exceptionally fine and very well-preserved condition both outside and inside. The teak wood has a beautiful, warm appearance with a lovely natural patina that fully matches the age and character of the piece.
