19th century wooden chest covered with dominoté paper lined inside with extraordinary blue paper which keeps insects away and protects precious things and important papers placed there from light. Note the dented lid, the missing paper in places, the stains and scratches, a fine slit at the bottom, a whole arsenal of picturesque details which add to the madly powerful and soft charm of this delicate piece - circa 1880.
