Empty pockets of impressive size, in raku-yaki, more commonly called raku. This manufacturing technique is linked to zen philosophy. Simple ceramics, natural, devoid of any sophistication, in good condition, heavy, stable, sober, refined, uncluttered. From the 60s and 70s. What might appear to be chippings are in fact merely lackof, voluntary, specific and original raku.
