Pair of BJS desk lamps in white lacquered steel and brass – Sweden 1960s

Elegant pair of desk lamps produced by Bäcklunds Järn & Smide (BJS) in Skellefteå, Sweden, in the 1960s. Their Scandinavian design combines understated white lacquered steel with a flexible brass gooseneck, offering great freedom in directing the light. They can be used as desk lamps, reading lamps, or bedside lamps. Both lamps bear their original BJS stamp under the base. In beautiful vintage condition with a patina consistent with their age. The paint shows some chips, scratches, and signs of use. The brass has developed a lovely natural patina. The two lamps exhibit a slight difference in the shade of white, due to the natural aging of their original finish. An authentic Swedish pair, understated and elegant, ideal for a contemporary or Mid-Century interior.
