Louis XV armchairs, 18th century, set of 2

A pair of Louis XV style armchairs with a Viennese straw backrest and seat dating from the 18th century. The armchairs feature an elegant seat and curved lines, characterised by sinuous "S"-shaped legs and armrests. The structure is made of walnut with a lacquered finish and floral decoration. The lacquer is worn, reflecting its age and use, but also the beauty of this piece (shabby chic effect). The wood and straw are in good condition, although one armchair has some marks on the straw seat on the sides. They are generally usable. The cushion is an optional addition that can be removed or replaced to preserve the straw over time.
