Rare executive corner writing desk or vanity table branded Dominique, Paris. This beautiful Art Deco period French writing table by Maison Dominique was designed by the French duo André Domin (1883-1962) & Marcel Genevrière (1885-1967), known as Dominique. Entirely veneered in precious woods, it features angular inlaid parquetry on top and boasts two spacious cabinets with doors flanking a large knee-hole area. An open shelf unit on the left side provides additional storage space. The niches in the apron add storage for documents, books, or magazines. The desk includes a removable compartment placed on the desk top with two doors revealing a letterbox or glove compartment. It can also serve as a practical shelf with its wide triangular-shaped top. The desk is fitted with original silver-colored chromed metal handles, knobs, locks, and a working key featuring sophisticated geometric shapes typical of the Art Deco period. The two side compartments with doors are rounded at the top and embellished with small silver metal strips on both the top edge and feet. This luxurious Art Deco desk is a testament to high-quality craftsmanship and design.
