This special vintage safari armchair, in the style of Percival Lafer, is a beautiful example of Scandinavian Mid Century Modern design from the late 1960s to early 1970s. The design combines the airy, open construction of the classic safari chair with the generous comfort of a deep lounge chair. Characteristic is the elegant solid wood frame with visible joints, in which the soft, voluminous cushions seem to float. The dark original corduroy fabric gives the whole a rich, warm appearance and forms a nice contrast with the natural wood. The armchair is clearly inspired by the iconic safari chair tradition refined by Scandinavian designers such as Kaare Klint in the early 20th century. While the original safari chair focused on a light, functional construction, this design translates those principles into a more luxurious and comfortable lounge variant. The result is a chair that looks robust, elegant, and relaxed at the same time. The combination of clean architectural lines, organically rounded details, and soft upholstery makes this armchair typical of Scandinavian modernism of that period. Thanks to the balanced proportions and timeless use of materials, the design still feels surprisingly contemporary. A characterful armchair with a strong sculptural appearance, perfect for lovers of vintage design, Japandi interiors, and authentic Mid Century Modern furniture. In a directly usable and still very beautiful condition. Höhe: 68, 5 cm. Sitzhöhe: 39 cm. Breite: 71 cm. Sitzbreite: 53, 5 cm. Tiefe: 67 cm. Sitztiefe: 59 cm.
