Mid-century teak sideboard from Bartels, Germany 1960s

The high quality teak sideboard has been completely restored by the restorer according to classic engineering quality guidelines in the traditional way and is indistinguishable from new condition! It consists of a carcass with a lockable hinged door, a central shelf and 3 drawers. In the drawer fronts are recessed grips made of solid teak. The teak hue is dark brown with a beautiful reddish tint and natural shades. The photos are highly exposed, so that the 1a condition is also visible in detail! Reddish tints become redder and colors generally lighter. The surfaces are semi-gloss / semi-gloss. After dismantling, the teak was subjected to a extensive special surface treatment. Through a multi-stage core cleaning and a subsequent careful sanding, the old oil layer was removed and the original teak base restored. The subsequent multi-layered oil build-up, which uses a variety of self-engineered and matched oils, creates increased durability, exceptional depth and a very pleasant warm haptic s. A major advantage of this special treatment is, in addition to the significantly higher robustness, the considerably more beautiful appearance of the radiant warm brown-red hue, compared to the predominantly encountered uncleaned or only one-step cleaned, with subsequent single-stage oil or wax care provided furniture. In the one-step treatment (low budget treatment), only the dust, etc., which has penetrated deep into the wood pores over the decades, is finally sealed, which then produces the typical dull, dusty brown veil that severely restricts the liveliness of the wood. The time required for this special surface treatment is about 10 times higher than for low budget treatment.
