Compote dish

Compote dish (presentation plate on a pedestal) in Ironstone, made between 1890 and 1910 by the famous French factory of Saint-Amand and Hamage (Nord). The model: This is the iconic decoration called "MARIE-LOUISE". It is recognised by its 18th-century style frieze on the edge (scrolls and lattice) and its bouquets of blue-grey wildflowers that project towards the centre. The manufacturing: The engraved inscription "TERRE DE FER" attests to a fine quality earthenware, very robust. The small engraved letter "d" next to it is a mark of the worker or mould specific to the workshop. Item in perfect condition, only the earthenware has yellowed in places, effects of time.
