Painting made by pierre catton (born in 1903), artist friend of bernard buffet (this is reflected in the choice of themes and techniques) alongside whom he painted. French painter, caricaturist and illustrator, he was attached to the world of circus where he had many friends whose portraits he made, including the clowns pipe, alex, mimile, dario... Etc, etc. He exhibited in the 50s and 60s in paris as well as in the provinces and received various awards, he was noticed by the art critic georges michel. A monograph of the artist appeared in 1961. The work presented here is made on wood panel, mixed media (oil), material invoice (work on the material and the support by intervening with a knife in certain places).
