Bentwood serving table with patterned and checkerboard pyrography top. This type of game table ("spieltische") appeared at the end of the 19th century among austro-hungarian manufacturers of bentwood furniture (thonet, fischel, etc.); they were found as much in cafes, living rooms, as in private interiors. This example of more local provenance is certainly a model from the baumann factory in franche-comté, dating from the period 1914-1926 ca (because I do not have it in the 1928 and following catalogs). Very good condition in its found juice, treated (flight holes) and refreshed during use on the natural patina of its beech wood which has become honeyed over time. Apart from playing checkers or chess, it can be used as a small serving table surrounded by two pretty bistro chairs, or as a support for a light fixture, plant, or any other object to be highlighted and raised in the interior decor...|height 76 cm, tray diameter 50 cm, wheelbase 42 cm.|delivery throughout mainland france (and eu on request).
