Shallow plate, late 19th century, Gien earthenware.

Small very rare dish with sponge decoration overpainted with pink flowers (diameter 26 cm, depth 4.5 cm) - or large deep plate - from the Gien pottery, stamped signature from the 1880s/1890s. In very good condition on the front, shiny glaze, not cracked or chipped, no wear except for its age. On the reverse, there are very infiltrated cracks with a brown appearance but the surface is intact. Full of charm, unique.
