A stunning mid-century modern studio pottery hand-turned vase from the talented Karl Jüttner workshop from the 1960s. The shape is simple yet unusual with a small, raised opening, but it is the colours that make this vase so special: it has a deep cornflower blue base with white details in a very advanced form of glazing. The wonderful thick matte glaze in shimmering blue and white completes the overall look of the vase. There is no damage and it is in fantastic condition, and it has the Karl Jüttner mark on the bottom. Karl Jüttner (1921-2006) of Saalfeld, Thüringen, Germany. Most of his work was created during the time of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) or East Germany. It is 21 cm high and around 15 cm in diameter.
