These candelabras have an elegant design with fluted shafts and a circular base with gadrooned decoration, typical of the classical and neoclassical styles of the early 20th century. They feature on the reverse the silversmith hallmark appollo 15 and a lion surmounted by the letters vd. Apollo is a trademark of the gallia company, which belonged to christofle, renowned for its quality silver-plated pieces in the early 20th century. Apollo was one of the trademarks used by gallia and christofle for some of their silver-plated collections. It can be found on candelabras, cutlery, silverware, and decorative objects. This mark was used by gallia, itself part of christofle, to designate fine silver-plated objects.
