Superb box of the warehouses of paris bercy of the beginning of the XX th, very beautiful marking vin hardy, very beautiful original piece. Ideal for decoration and storage of your wine 10 place of bottle wine and champagne. The bercy warehouses were a set reserved for wine merchants located in the bercy district on the outskirts of the 12th arrondissement. Located along the seine, this area received, stored and redistributed wines and spirits. Warehouses were set up around 1800 on the domaine de la rapée (on the site of the current palais omnisports de bercy), outside the barrier de la rapée of the fermiers généraux enclosure, which allowed the wines not to be subject to the grant[1]. These warehouses developed in the following years, upstream of the former domain of the rapée, on the grounds of the parks and gardens that extended to the banks of the seine at the back of the pleasure houses of the rue de bercy abandoned by their owners at the end of the eighteenth century. M. De chabons, mayor of the commune of bercy, acquired in 1809 the petit château estate, where he established cellars and a cooperage workshop. This complex was bought in 1815 by louis gallois (successor of m. De chabons in the office of mayor of bercy), who enlarged the cellars and subdivided the land by giving the main road the name of rue gallois and the other service roads the first names of members of his family. Dimension: 58.5cm X 23.5cm. Height: 37cm.
