Theatre wall mirror "Tragedy" Vienna Secession Art Nouveau Gustav Klimt, attributed.

A remarkable Art Nouveau wall mirror from the Vienna Secession period, made in Vienna, Austria. Attributed to Georg Klimt and dating from 1897. A high-quality piece made for a theatre: the upper centre of the frame features a finely detailed theatrical tragedy mask, while the rest of the frame evokes the appearance of a stage curtain. The lower section is adorned with a decorative turquoise-white opaline glass stone, with the dates 1871 and 1897 inscribed. This beautiful mirror is a unique piece, carefully crafted from iron and white metal, executed with a high level of quality and craftsmanship, entirely hammered and hand-forged. The object is in very good condition. The opaline glass stone has a small chip on the back, not visible from the front. The mirror plate has been replaced subsequently. Dimensions: 55.88 cm wide X 60.96 cm high; mirror plate approximately 35.56 X 26.67 cm.
