Hand-woven antique tehran persian rug. Made around 1920 in northern persia. Made of wool dyed with natural plant pigments, which make the colors very natural and intense and do not lose their color with time. Cotton warp of the rug. The rug is woven with a very strong double-bonded weave, which makes it very durable and virtually indestructible. This technique of weaving persian carpets is very time-consuming, but the carpet will never wipe to the cotton warp - it was used in old persian carpets until the 1930s. Due to its time-consuming nature, it was discontinued and carpets from later years are already woven with a single-weave bond, which reduces the production time twice. Preserved for its years in very good condition - it has a minimal loss in the fleece (visible in the photo), however, due to the fact that the carpet is double-bonded, it is practically imperceptible. Very short pile rug. It fits perfectly in both antique and designer interiors.
