Recycled vintage lamp — ceramic art deco ball base and linen shade

A round foot, entirely covered with a hand-engraved feather or scale pattern in shades of green. This incised decoration technique (sgraffito), where the pattern is carved into the glaze before firing, is emblematic of Art Deco ceramics from the 1920s-1930s: stylised geometric patterns inspired by nature — feathers, scales, foliage — were highly sought after in French and Belgian decorative ceramics at that time. In our workshop, this vintage ceramic foot has been fully restored and topped with a new natural linen lampshade, featuring a subtle finish highlighted by a khaki soutache that echoes the tones of the foot. This combination of a strong graphic decorative antique piece and a contemporary minimalist lampshade creates a lamp that is both timeless and full of character.
