Impressive brutalist wall relief with integrated lighting, made by Brakelmann & Becker in Germany during the 1970s. A distinctive design at the intersection of visual art and functional lighting. The monumental relief consists of two abstract ceramic compositions, mounted on a heavy, black slate plate. Geometric shapes, open structures, and various surface textures together form a layered and almost architectural whole. The ceramics are executed in nuanced green-brown tones, with dark accents and a characteristic copper-coloured appearance on the raised parts. The combination of rough textures, deep recesses, and tight geometric elements gives the object its powerful brutalist character. Two integrated light points with mirrored bulbs add an extra dimension. The light is partly reflected and emphasizes the different heights and structures of the ceramic surface. As a result, the wall relief changes character when the lighting is switched on. With its width of 90 cm, this is a particularly decorative object that works both as a wall sculpture and as atmospheric lighting. The wall relief is in very good vintage condition and the lighting functions properly. Due to the combination of ceramics and solid slate, the object has a considerable weight. Dimensions are as follows: height 40 cm, width 90 cm, depth 8 cm. Carefully selected vintage design. Professionally restored where necessary, with respect for the original design, craftsmanship, and materials used.
