Pair of Napoleon III candelabra in brass, 19th century

Elegant pair of antique three-light candelabra, made of cast brass, likely dating from the second half of the 19th century, Napoléon III period, around 1860-1880. Their decoration of foliage, flowers, and scrolls with flowing lines reflects the rococo style of the Second Empire. The two candelabra form a matching pair, with very similar proportions, ornamentation, and patina. Their size allows them to be placed on a mantelpiece, a console, or at the centre of a table. The surfaces exhibit a beautiful nuanced antique patina, intentionally preserved. The colour varies slightly from one candelabrum to the other: one has a more matte appearance, while the other retains more golden reflections. There are signs of oxidation, verdigris inside the candle holders, and ancient whitish deposits in some recesses of the decoration, which may correspond to wax residues and mineral deposits. The entire piece has not been stripped to preserve its antique character. Slight irregularities in the alignment of the branches are observed, consistent with cast manufacturing and artisanal finishing.
