Set of 2 ceiling pendants by Mathieu Matégot for Holophane in metal and glass, 1960s. Unique set of two pendants designed by Mathieu Matégot for Holophane, France, around the 1960s. These pendants feature a well-documented design in Matégot's lighting work, combining an elegant downward-facing hemispherical metal shade with the original two-part Holophane prismatic glass diffuser, known for its controlled and glare-free light distribution. The shade is suspended from a tapered perforated steel cone and a straight rod, with the entire piece retaining its original white paint, which remains in very good and consistent condition. When lit, the perforations create a subtle glow upwards while the prismatic glass produces a calm and evenly distributed light below. Both pendants are in remarkably good original condition with only very slight signs of age and use, making them an unusually cohesive and well-preserved set, suitable for installation in a line above a table, kitchen island, or in an architectural space. Four of these beautiful pieces are available. Dimensions. Height: 60 cm.
