An impressive early spanish tin glaze vase, hand painted underglaze in blue on cream ground. Of bulbous form, the vase features twin handles, a crimped neck and flared base. There are no identifying marks, the vase is most probably 18th century or 1st quarter 19th century. The art work design on both sides of the vase depicts a spanish toreador being charged by a bull. The vase has survived the years remarkably well, however, there are some small chips which can be expected from typical use and common on old delft type ceramics, one on a handle, one on lip. And three or four on the base rim. My photographs reveal the underlying ceramic. There are no cracks or hair lines and the vase has a fine "ring" when tapped on the edge. It has not been restored or repaired. The size is approximately 10 inches high and 10 inches wide. Uk shipping is free. International shipping is 30gbp. As a buyer, it is your responsibility to check which customs and import charges may apply, and to pay them. Before you buy it is a good idea to check with your country's customs office for more specific details.
