Large plate or decorative catch-all made of capiz shell encircled with gilded brass, elegantly shaped like a scallop shell. Beautiful mosaic work of fine mother-of-pearl, arranged in translucent bi-coloured scales of pearlescent and golden hues. Vintage craftsmanship from Southeast Asia in the second half of the 20th century, 1970s-90s, likely originating from the Philippines.
