Mid 20th century Italian gilded frame

Mid-20th-century Italian frame. Crafted from wood and gesso, this piece features intricate carving and chasing with a bronze-toned gilded finish; it is of high quality and makes for a delightful decorative element. The frame is designed to hold a mirror or painting with maximum dimensions of 42.5 cm in height by 58.5 cm in width (accommodated by a recess at the back). With its pleasing size and proportions, it is well-suited for various spaces within a home—an excellent choice for antique dealers and interior designers alike. It can be hung either vertically or horizontally by repositioning the mounting hook. The frame retains a lovely patina, though there are some minor losses to the finish. Structurally sound and solid, it remains in good condition.
