Cake stand Luna pattern by Manufacture Royale et Imperiale Nimy, ca. 1840s

Cake stand by nimy with the rare "luna" pattern. The plate listed here was used as a cake presentation stand or to present fruit. Based on the mark, it was probably created between 1848-1849, when the factory was under the direction of ceramic-legend françois declercq. The design is the quite rare pattern called ‘luna’ and consists of chalice-shaped fruitbearing flowers along the edge of the plate. This same pattern is repeated along the bottom of the stand. Condition: It shows signs of its age with a little fading in the design and some stains on the surface and bottom, there's also a small chip in the bottom. Its overall condition is great for being more than a 150 years old. (please see pictures for details) Dimensions: diameter 24, 5cm; height 5cm. Made in belgium.
