A rare and handmade ceramic vase from the celebrated 'Faenza' series, designed by Ingrid Atterberg for Upsala Ekeby, Sweden, circa 1960. This exceptional piece is the largest model produced within the Faenza range and is inspired by Italian Faenza pottery traditions and natural forms, particularly stipa grass. The vase features a warm honey-toned glaze with striped turquoise detailing. Its robust yet organic form and rustic shape reflect Atterberg’s balance between strength and refinement. The Faenza series was produced for only one year and consisted of a limited group of bowls and vases, making surviving examples rare. Each piece is deeply stamped on the underside with UE, Sweden, ABG, and the model number, confirming authenticity. Ingrid Atterberg (1920–2008) was one of Upsala Ekeby’s most influential designers, responsible for many iconic designs from the 1940s through the 1960s. Faenza remains among her most highly regarded works. Condition: Very good vintage condition, with no chips or cracks.
