Turkmen carpet from the 1960s, made using traditional handcrafted techniques. Entirely handmade, this rectangular carpet features an irregular geometry, visible in the main photo, a hallmark of non-industrialised work. The deep burgundy field is adorned with characteristic repetitive patterns, framed by three overlapping borders. The wool, relatively thick, has retained its colours well and offers an authentic patina, a result of time and use. The fringes are worn, if not non-existent. One border is heavily damaged (see scans). These acknowledged alterations bear witness to the carpet's history and enhance its authentic character. This piece is aimed at discerning enthusiasts and collectors who appreciate antique textiles. It does not meet standard contemporary aesthetic criteria but embodies ancestral craftsmanship and a raw aesthetic, ideal for vintage decor or a characterful interior. Dimensions: • Length: 123 cm. • Width: 75 cm. The carpet is clean, thoroughly cleaned, and preserved in respect of its original condition.
