Set of 2 coffee tables created by Belgian artist Jef Verbrak around 1970. Modernist design, composed of two abstract paintings by the artist. Mixed media composition on wood panel, oil and sand inclusion covered with epoxy resin. Structure made of solid Wenge wood (approximately 2 cm thick). These works are inspired by the brutalist movement of the time. Provenance: private collection of architect M. Pletinckx, specifically commissioned for his private interior, unique pieces. Signed on the back. Period: 20th century / Mid Century / 1960 - 1980. Origin: Belgium. Dimensions: large 27 X 135 X 135 cm, small 27 X 80 X 80 cm. Total weight: 80 kg. Number of elements: 2. Condition: excellent, slight dent on the edge of the Wenge structure and on one of the edges of the large top. Style: brutalist, design, modernism. Material: wood, synthetic, epoxy resin.
