Monumental wall light in frosted glass — Kalmár for Franken KG, c

A major luminous sculpture from the 1970s, this imposing wall light reflects the brutalist aesthetic of Austrian and German art glass. The result of a collaboration between the Viennese house J.T. Kalmár and the publisher Franken KG, this piece commands an exceptional mineral presence due to its unusual dimensions. The glass slab (1 cm thick) features a dynamic relief. Its milky and opalescent material is encased in a "melted ice" texture with artisanal bubbling, where some burst bubbles on the surface add a beautiful touch of soul. Publisher: J.T. Kalmár / Franken KG (original label, model 5416) Era: ~ 1970 | Brutalist / Mid-Century Style. Dimensions: 50 × 45 cm | Wall projection: 17 cm | Thickness: 1 cm. Electricity & Safety: 4 E27 sockets. Frame stamped with the VDE safety label. Electricity checked. Sold without cable from the junction box: the cable was used for taking photos of the light fixture when lit. But rest assured, the original cables coming from the fixture will remain! Excellent vintage condition, no cracks or missing parts. Original micro-bubbles burst. A rare lighting piece in this colossal format, perfect for accentuating a refined interior. Its scale and plasticity combine the prestige of Viennese design with German technical quality.
