This monumental catchall is an exceptional piece from the glasswork of the La Rochère factory (France). Cut directly from a thick block of glass measuring 3.5 cm, it perfectly embodies the Brutalist aesthetic of the 1970s. The object surprises with its weight and mass (solid glass). The glass technique is remarkable: a pattern with a "fabric" or "grid" texture is trapped transparently within the mass of the glass, creating a striking visual effect of depth. The base is painted white, an original technique to enhance the transparency and texture of the glass. Under the base, one can distinguish the distinctive smile characteristic of certain productions from the factory at that time. Its clean square shape and raw material make it a powerful decorative piece, ideal for a Mid-Century Modern or contemporary interior. Precise dimensions: External dimensions: 19 X 19 cm. Height / Thickness: 3.5 cm. Useful inner diameter: 13.5 cm. Weight: ~2.8 kg (substantial weight) Detailed condition: The piece is in superb vintage condition. The solid glass is sound, with no major chips or cracks. The transparency is beautiful. Note very slight micro-scratches from use on the useful surface and minor marks on the white paint of the base, which are invisible once the object is placed, attesting to its authenticity. Price: €160.
