Bienaise workshop chair – model 204 – France, circa 1930–1950

Authentic Bienaise brand chair, patinated metal frame, adjustable height, reclining backrest with wheel, bentwood seat and backrest. Very good original condition, functional and aesthetic vintage use. The Bienaise chair was designed in Paris in 1921 by the brothers Frank and Harry Nelson, as the first ergonomic chair for professional use. Tubular steel frame, adjustable in height. Bentwood seat and backrest screwed into multi-ply beech. Adjustment mechanism with wheel and spring visible under the seat. Base with 4 flat legs regularly curved inside.
