Krokus armchair in velvet by Lennart Bender for Ulferts AB, Sweden, 1970

Krokus armchair, designed in 1968 by Lennart Bender for Ulferts AB, a company founded by Nils Ulferts in his small workshop in Tibro, Sweden, in 1944. The name "Krokus" refers to a flower that directly inspires the seat: an organic design that draws from the living. Its design is based on a circular seat set within a round shell over which the fabric is stretched, creating this enveloping silhouette, characteristic of the Space Age of the 1960s-70s. This example has been completely reupholstered in Kvadrat Gentle 2 celadon blue velvet. In excellent condition, with some signs of wear on the base. Dimensions: D97cm H70cm (Seat height 40cm).
