Description: This delightful sideboard was designed and manufactured by mcintosh of kirkcaldy in the mid-twentieth century. Mcintosh was known on the vintage market for their mid-century style furniture, particularly for teak cabinetry and sideboards. Founded in 1869 by alexander henry (a.h) mcintosh (1835-1919) in kirkcaldy, fife. We suspect this rare sideboard to be a one-off piece perhaps designed for an exhibition but never placed into production. It offers not only an exceptional mid-century design but also acts as a functional storage piece with two spacious drop-down cabinets (one with a signature mcintosh 'dry bar' pull out drinks tray) and three spacious drawers. The piece has a beautiful rich grain, warm tones and rich colours throughout. Item sku: condition: We have carefully stripped this desk and refinished it with a coat of matt lacquer for a durable and lasting finish. We try to capture the condition of our items in our photographs as best as possible.
