Two-tier structure with a slatted seat and lower shelf, crafted in bamboo with distinctive woven rattan bindings. Scandinavian production, second half of the 20th century. The lightness of the structure and the richness of the natural-fibre craftsmanship define the character of this Scandinavian bench from the second half of the 20th century. Crafted in bamboo, it is arranged on two levels, with a slatted seat and a lower shelf designed to hold shoes, both characterized by a regular, airy pattern. The rattan bindings take on a distinctive decorative role at the corners, where elaborate crossed weaves emphasize the joints and the handcrafted nature of the construction. The uprights extend below the lower shelf to form four short legs with rounded ends. The interplay between the solidity of the structural elements and the lightness of the slats creates a piece with a simple yet refined design, enhanced by the warm tones and natural variations of bamboo and rattan.
