Art Deco bedside tables, burl wood with glass tops, 1930s

A unique pair of Art Deco bedside tables from the 1930s – a combination of striking, elegant design and exceptional material texture. The expressive burl veneer creates a vibrant, deep-toned grain, which is particularly highlighted by the dark stain and high-gloss finish. Drawers, open shelves and cupboard compartments offer a successful combination of functionality and authentic Art Deco design. The bedside tables are made from veneered blockboard. They have been sanded, darkly stained and finished with a gloss lacquer. The original glass tops and their mountings, as well as the brass handles, are intact. The glass tops show slight signs of age-related wear in the form of small scratches and a chip on the rear edge of each.
