Pair of gilt wooden wall consoles (not pedestals, which are freestanding supports), carved and gilded, decorated with wrapped acanthus — the characteristic plant motif of the French and European classical repertoire. Decoration of acanthus in volutes, the gilding on a silver/grey background visible on the returns, and the overall shape inspired by Louis XV / Regency. Length 27 × height 28. Depth 16 cm.
