Ancient sanctuary lamp, silver-plated brass, winged angel, 130 cm.

Ancient sanctuary lamp in partially silver-plated brass, 19th century. A liturgical suspension of beautiful dimensions, richly decorated with repoussé foliage and floral friezes. The body is adorned with an appliqué of a winged angel's head, a typical motif of French religious productions from the late 19th century. The body features a carefully executed Restoration decoration. The relief is sharp, and the volumes are balanced. The piece retains its original patina with visible silvering loss on the reliefs and protruding parts, consistent with its age and former use in a religious context. Dimensions: Height without chain 35 cm, total height with chain 130 cm, diameter 38 cm. Condition: Good structural condition. Wear and partial silvering loss. Signs of internal oxidation related to previous use. Chains present. No silver hallmark, it is indeed silver-plated brass. A strong decorative piece for a characterful interior, château, old house, architectural project, or repurposing as a light fixture.
